Carbon fiber, in percentage blends with cotton, polyester, wool and other fibers, produces fire retardant and self-extinguishing results for furniture, mattress covers, office panel systems, seating, theatre and home drapery, fire exposure clothing, welding blankets, and blankets for prisons, nursing homes, and disaster relief. The fire barrier characteristics of these fibers assist in improving the fire class of standard fabric for a wide range of important applications.
