After twenty years without a recycling solution, the carbon fiber/composites industries around the world have landfilled as much as 30% of the entire material supply on an annual basis. That is, until now.
Producers of virgin carbon fiber and their manufacturing customers around the world, now have available to them various program solutions offered by Carbon Fiber Remanufacturing. Each of these programs provide for the recycling, reclaiming, remanufacturing of excess post-industrial carbon fiber from tow (on or off of tubes), fabric selvage, and felt/mat/preform cut offs from standard and off spec fibers and material forms.
Important to a good solution for millions of pounds per year of excess carbon fibers and material forms is the simultaneous development of new and expanded markets which can take advantage of the premium value of both the high tech fiber characteristics, but also the premium value of selling finished products to the marketplace that are made from carbon fibers that are 100% reclaimed, diverted from the landfill.
The reclaimed carbon fibers processed and distributed by Carbon Fiber Remanufacturing (CFR), are “Certified Green.” Carbon Fiber Remanufacturing utilizes its trademark symbol to announce CFR carbon fibers and fiber forms are processed from 100% reclaimed carbon fibers.
The specifications for the Green Certification of CFR fibers and materials from a third party group are available upon written request to info@CarbonFiberRemanufacturing.com
Manufacturers utilizing CFR fibers and materials may request (at no cost) the individual material certifications to match each CFR product number they purchase for making their own product. This certification program supports each manufacturer in their claims to their marketplace customers they are utilizing certain percentages of reclaimed carbon fibers and materials in their product applications.
